San Jose del Cabo Condo

San Jose del Cabo & Surrounding Area of Los Cabos

Los Cabos (the capes) is anchored by the sister cities of San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. The twenty mile highway that connects them, the tourist corridor, offers magnificent hotels, excellent restaurants, many championship Cabo golf courses, and the most gorgeous beaches in Mexico.

Exploring Nature in San Jose del Cabo
Whale watching in Los Cabos during December thru March you can admire one of the most beautiful natural phenomena to occur on Mexico's coast: the courtship, mating and birth process of the gray whale. The Cabo Rey, as well as others, offer dining and whale watching cruises touring Land's End, Lover's Beach, and El Arco to view these magnificent creatures. Don't forget your camera!

From June thru December sea turtles nest and hatch in Los Cabos. Several hotels, including the Hotel Presidente down the street from our condo and by the San Jose estuary, participate in the turtle release program. In order to protect the species, as nests are found along the beach they are transferred to a holding area for safety. They are then safely released on the beaches of the Sea of Cortez after hatching. Contact the Hotel Presidente for dates and times to watch this event.

Bahia Santa Maria is a horse-shoe shaped bay and is a Protected Marine Sanctuary. It is a great beach for snorkeling and swimming with schools of brightly colored marine life. (There are no facilities and little shade, morning is the best time to visit.) Many boats have snorkeling tours to Bahia Santa Maria as well as Playa Bahia Chileno.

Year-round the San Jose Estuary and Bird Sanctuary is home to many native and migratory birds. The most scenic times to visit are at sunrise and sunset.
